drag and drop files to CD?
Hopefully this is the right forum, if not I apologize. I have been trying to drag and drop files to my cd burner, but I keep getting an error message saying that the disc is not ready, even though I have an unused cd in the tray. I found out that since I have Nero on my computer it disables the drag and drop feature of Windows.
My question is this: Is there a way to still use drag and drop while still having Nero on my computer? The main concern I have is not being able to make a rescue disc with AVG, since I keep getting that error message. I can use Nero with no problem and can burn cd's rather quickly with it. I don't really want to get rid of Nero, because I use it to make Video CD's so I can look at the pictures I've taken on the big screen. Thank you! Scomac |

I know with InCD, a program that comes with Nero, you can have drag and drop, and [I think] save directly to the CD from a program. InCD formats the CD a specific way to do this, so you have to have the InCD program to read the CD. Roxie also has a program that will make a "CD work just like a floppy".
There is a program you can try and buy on download.com, that works with standard CDs, and requires no special formatting called BurnQuick. You just right click on the file and send to the CD. I would recommend trying the free demo... is easier than drag and drop I would say. |

if you were to do a format on a cdrw first, then you could use it just like a big floppy disk, all functions of cut/pase and drag/drop willwork as if you were doing it to a floppy disk,

You can drag and drop from windows explorer into Nero Express and burn the CD when you are done.

If you have musicmatch, which you should, every one does, right click the file you want to be on a cd and choose the option send to/ muscimatch burner plus.

No, everyone does not have Musicmatch Plus. That doesn't come with Windows and it's not free.

Actually, I have been using Nero to do all my burning. What I ended up doing for my recovery disk with AVG was to make the recovery file on my hard drive and then used Nero to burn the file to a CD. This is just a very cumbersome way of having to do it, and I just wanted to be able to cut out the middleman, so to speak.

Try WMP 10 - it will also let you burn a data CD- you never know. Go to the "burn button" and on the latest had side pick "data cd", see if you can do it from there.
