Unhappy Adobe Photoshop 6.0 Won't Install?

Quote:
(serial number here) is not a valid Adobe Photoshop 6.0 serial number. Please re-enter your serial number
That is the error I recieve when trying to install Photoshop 6.0 from a CD(a two disc set. One English at startscreen, other is another language at startscreen) that my father bought off of ebay. They are genuine CD's, but my worry is that on the label of the CD it says "for bundles only" and we don't have any paperwork I don't think. Just the 2 CD's and the case with a CD key on it. The CD key worked in my fathers computer, an eMac, but it fails to install with the very same key on my Pentium 4, Windows machine.

Any idea's on how to fix it? I couldn't really find much on Adobe's website for my problem... I can't even find information on Version 6.0. Any help is greatly appreciated since I really would like to try Photoshop out but only being able to from my fathers computer would be a major pitfall. Thanks

Q: May I use the software on more than one computer at a time?
A: The activation process supports installation on two machines. Adobe's Product License Agreement allows a user to install the product on a primary and a secondary computer as long as the product is not used simultaneously on the two machines. While the activation process supports installing and activating Adobe software on two machines, the usage of the product on the secondary computer is restricted to the main user who licensed the software. Allowing others to use Adobe software on a secondary computer violates the Product License Agreement.
from Adobe

This makes it sound as if you can have the program installed on two machines, but it's not letting me... am I mistaken?

It does. Adobe has always allowed you to use a primary and secondary system with thier products. But...Adobe might have the original owner showing as the primary and your dad's installation as the secondary. You might try registering by phone and tell them what is going on.

Dave.

I would try that, but registration comes after the installation, and I can't get past the installation because of my serial number being rejected. I would think should I try and register with my fathers key and the guy we bought it from also has it installed then I would run into a problem, but I can't even get to register since it won't install. It seems more like it's not identifying my serial number as a valid key, not that it is being used by more then the allowed number of computers.

I would suggest that you double check your typing of the data, it is case sentivitive, and double check that your using the correct ones.
