err my windows is constantly making staticky noises in the background >.<
its really annoying, i always have to drown it out w/ music when ever i start a program or connect to something online, the staticky noise stops but another noise starts. it sounds like i oculd hear my comp working and running from my headset. i tried to mute it in volume control w/ "mute all" but it doesnt work. when i restart my comp, it goes away of course, but it starts again when the windows xp appears on the screen. other noises that are annoying appears when im scrolling in IE and when i maximize or minimize windows. please help me, i'll go insane soon. |

Is the sound comming out of the speakers?
Try Control Panel->Sounds->Sounds tab and set all to NONE.
