I am going to reinstall windows 2000 on my parrents computer, and i have the Wondows CD, but not a driver CD. what is the easiest way to back them up?

Thanks for helping.

It isn't as simple as backing up a folder, some drivers install multiple files and associated utilities to a number of different directories. Your best bet is to
(a) Note down the hardware you have and then download and save the driver installation files to a CD; or
(b) Keep the original driver disks, if your hardware came with any.
Obviously, the first method will give you the latest drivers you require.

There is a small program called "my drivers",Ihave used it to save all my drivers to a folder,or burn to disk, that I can call on when I need to reinstall things....It's not free,BUT you can get a trial version .....Just Google --my drivers---and D/L it...

I've never used it, but here's a freeware driver backup utility.

Just download all your drivers and burn them to a CD. I have a setup CD that I use since I reformat every 3-6 months. On it I have SP1, SP2, latest chipset drivers, video card drivers, sound card drivers, Firefox, AntiVir, and Ad-Aware. That way I have all the basics covered and don't have to hunt for several CDs or redownload everything.
