Question adaware se update error

Hi,
I 'm having a problem with updating the definitions for adaware se. When i connect to update i get an error "error retrieving updates" always at 5%. I'm using winxp pro. can anyone help ?

download and use ad-aware 6.0

Welcome to PCMech! Which version of the program are you using? I'd maybe try updating to the latest build of the program. Barring that, just unistall/reinstall the version you're using to see if that helps.

No, the latest version is 1.05 SE. 6 is obsolete.

ad-aware 6.0 is not the newest

i'm using ad-aware se presonal 1.05

How's the status of your problem? Did you try a simple uninstall/reinstall yet?

yes I did uninstall/reinstall it but nothing changed

You can go to Lavasoft's website and download the updated definition file. At the home page for lavasoft http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ there is an area on the right hand side of the page that says what the most recent build is and also the most recent definition file (SE1R20 25.11.2004). Click the definition and you can save it that way, then you can install it once the file downloads.
