Check the attitude please, it's a legitimate question, and further, there is no compulsion for you to answer if you cannot respect the query. seanerwin2004: Welcome to PCMech. Regarding your question .. it all depends on what your connection to the other people is (are you connected to the internet? are you behind a proxy server), are there any bandwidth issues (some people on diallup etc etc), do you have any security needs. Generally speaking, most messengers these days come with a very decent provisions for video and voice conferencing - like Yahoo messenger, MSN messenger etc etc. They will allow you to conference with a group of people with little or no configuration issues. If you want something less intrusive, then you might want to try out Microsoft Netmeeting, which is already on your system. Dingotel (www.dingotel.com) is also pretty popular. HTH |

Skype is pretty good when it works... my problem with the program is that I kept losing the connection, for absolutely indeterminate reasons. Another fellow on the same router had it work just fine though, and the interface is designed with voice chatting in mind so that's good.
These days I use msn for any video chat, which is rare. AIM used to be my choice, but those annoying and noisy video ads have been playing a lot lately so I never use it anymore. I've never tried voice chat on trillian, but I assume it would be on a par with the quality of whichever chat network you're using it for at the time. |
