MS Office reinstall
Question. I need to reinstall MS office. If I remove it and reinstall it, will I lose all my email's and settings? If so how do I find where my emails are and back them up?
For some reason on my laptop, if it is connected to the network, I can use word and excel. If it isn't connected to the network, excel and word get and error and crash. Anyone know why that would happen? Thanks |

If you are using outlook for the e mails open outlook and choose Import and Export from the file menu. you should be able to take it from there
Settings, depends on what we are talking about, if you have changed your normal.dot (template file) word file to something different than the Word original then just remember to save the file before the reinstall. I do not think Excel has a template file like word

You can also back up your outlook by saving the files themselves to disk. They are found in:
C:/Documents and settings>User>Local Settings>Application Data>Microsoft>Outlook There is another folder in: C:/documents and settings>User>application data>Microsoft>Outlook I dont know which files are what, but if you replace the reinstalled files with the ones you've saved, You will be fine. Never hurts to import/export the way Sdkfz said to though as well. |
