Create Image for DL media With Nero Recode
How can I create an image file for DL media (8.5 gb) using nero recode, It only has the option for 4.7 gb DVD and custom, so if using the custom option how much MB must be the custom size?
MB = ? |

Well, it's about 8,100 MB, but what are you trying to do ?
I mean, if you wanna copy a dual layer DVD 1:1, just use DVD Decrypter, rip the DVD using ISO mode, and burn the DVD using ISO mode, and you're done. RJ

But, is there any possibility that the DVD-video has much more data than the one DL media can store?
How much data (Video and files) exactly support the DL media? Last edited by easg; 12-06-2004 at 04:08 PM. |

The dual layer DVDs hold up to 7.95 GB. And video DVDs that are not on dual layer DVDs, are on single layer DVDs. And well, all blanks so far have been single layered, holding 4.37 GB. RJ |

Ok, I will use the ISO mode of DVDDecripter, and then burn the image with nero.
Thanks |

Why Nero ? Use DVD Decrypter to burn the ISO, it does a really good job, and I believe better than Nero.

Ok I`ll check it out, I like to create first the ISO image for later burn than just burning at the same time the DVD because it is more slow.
I will read more carefully the online manual for DVD decripter. |

Oh, yes, that's what I meant, too. I didn't mean "on-the-fly". DVD Decrypter has two options in ISO Mode, ISO Read, and ISO Write.
With ISO Read, you rip the DVD and create an image on the hard drive, along with a second file that contains information about it. Then, using ISO Write, you can burn the image whenever you want to, and you can burn it on as many DVD+R DL discs as you want. RJ |
