OpenOffice-*.xls files open as #########
What do I need to do to get this to work?
I save the report in a Travel agency program (TRAMS) Save as .xls, and the preview looks great and it prints off fine. If I try to open it with open office or send it as an email attachment its unreadable garbage , just pound signs and the names of the fonts. |

"Travel agency program (TRAMS) Save as .xls"
Is this program designed to save things in an Excel format?

Well you could be right, but when the 'save as' window opens there is a pull down menu giving *.xls as one of the options along with .rtf and .txt etc . Can't remember what else ,I'm back home now. Question is- why would it print OK, but not open on the monitor after it had been saved.
Cheers, Chris. |

Excel is a big ol complicated program. I'm thinking that a Travel agency program would have big troubles saving it correctly.
Wile viewed in the TA program it looks fine. Click on the file later and Excel launchs a bunch of what you're seeing. |

The data is exceeding the cell width. Make your fonts smaller or widen your columns.
