Question Recommend me a WMP10 alternative

For some reason every media I play on WMP10 does not show the video, only audio. Tried on other programs like winamp, divx, the video is showing. Not only that, when wmp10 is on with the video, my pc strangely becomes too slow. Look at the taskmanager and system only 5% in use. So some weird problem I have here. Uninstall wmp10, reinstall it, same problem. Now finding a good alternative to this. Any suggestions. Something that has the wmp taskbar play thing is great. I like that feature. Other than that the software must not be bloated, I will not allow any Real media on my pc. On current terms I could leave winamp to play everyting, but I dislike the way the window suddenly becomes big, and when you open wniamp, the window does not close. Clearly not meant for video. It can play.
Also something that can include a playlist is nice. Equalizer is ok, not necessary. Graphic equalizer I don't need. So I think this preety much narrows the software selection. I just need to know what is best. Was wondering about B's software. Open to suggestions.

As for audio, I strictly use winamp. Including CD's

Try grabbing the AC3 codec. A quick google will turn up the link.

I have Nvidia DVD player, for some reason, comparing lots of movie type files, nvdvd does a better job. The only problem is associating it with files. I could not find the .exe in the folder, but I could open it at start menu. The location target given in the start menu also could not be found anywhere.
