Shopping for Microsoft Office 2003 Professional
http://www.agsolutionspc.com/index.a...D=13&dc=276855
This retailer seems to have a good name for itself. For $128, this is a very good price for the full version of Office 2003 Professional. Is there any chance this software will be modified at all or would I just be satisifed with this purchase? Thank you for any help in advance. |

I would be suspicious, they are selling that for less than the cost of OEM.

Ok, from what I understand...
OEM not coming in a box, that's fine... I have CD covers. I'm just interested in getting the software for cheap. Microsoft Office 2003 Professional is only licensed for one computer irregardless (unless you get the Academic license) so that shouldn't be a problem. OEM not being transferable... would that cause a problem if I upgraded hardware in my PC at a later date? I would think not because it's a productivity app not Windows, but just want to make sure. If it would, that's not cool. OEM cannot be used to upgrade. This means if Office 2005 comes out, or 2006 or w/e -- I can't purchase an upgrade disc, I would have to get the full version? (The full version anywho of OEM MS Office Pro 2003 is still $51 less than the cheapest upgrade disc I could find using PCWorld's Price List). As far as MS providing free technical support -- they only give two free times they give support until they want to charge you per incident... so that really isn't a concern. According to PCMech, the AGSolutionspc.com seems to have a good retailer rating. Does this sound like a go ahead and purchase deal or find a retailer that sells it for $179.99 or more? You can purchase an upgrade disk to upgrade the OEM version, but it will cost you more than a new OEM. It means that you cannot upgrade a previous retail version with the OEM, it has to be installed clean.
