PC Mechanic CD
I just received the PCMechanic CD, however when I try to access any of the features, I get a message that the site is unavailable and to try later. Is the site down or is there another problem? Thanks for your input.

I guess my foolish question is: isn't something supposed to show up on the screen when you run the CD, other than a message saying:
"Internet explorer was unable to link to the web page you requested. The page may be temporarily unavailable." This happens while trying to access any of the items listed on the CD. |

Interesting - I believe the PC Mech CD is all in a executable eBook. You might try right clicking on the CD and clicking explore and then accessing the file.

pcmechanic cd
I tried looking at all the files on the CD; if looks as if you can load some of the freeware audio players and other stuff. But the things I bought the CD for: Build Your own computer, Beep and Post Codes, Diagnostics, and Benchmarks all give the "Internet Explorer cannot find the web page" message. Does any one in management read these things and let me know if I can exchange this for one that works?

Just checked my CD. Think it's an older version but it opens just fine without connecting to the internet. The information you are looking for isn't internet dependent. I think the IE4 or above requirement is only to connect to the sites that are LINKED on the cd. Have you tried it in another computer?

We are back. Sorry about the delay.
The CD is internet independent, so there is no attempt to connect to the internet when you load it up. I am not sure why you are having that problem. Have you tried it on another PC? |
