Firewall and Browsing

I use Sygate as my firewall and it appears to be conflicting with my browsing. Somtimes when I try to access a page anywhere on the web it just hangs there and says it's loading. As soon as I tell my Sygate firewall to "Allow All," the website starts working again and it loads. When I look at my list of allowed applications, FireFox is one of them before "Allow All" is check off. Why is my firewall conflicting with my browser like this?

If you're running XP with SP2 installed, it may be the SP2 connectivity problem discussed on this page. There's a link to download the fix (I used it and it works) near the bottom of the page.

Do you have the XP firewall turned off?

I think I've fixed the problem. I had to create access rules for my ports like the HTTP port 80. Now that that's settled, does anyone know all the ports that a browser uses and what they're for such as HTTP, FTP, etc...?

Very detailed one can be found here:

http://www.bekkoame.ne.jp/~s_ita/port/port1-99.html

-gives you every port and what it is used for, ports 1-65000+

Basic ones used can be found here:

Hmmm I'm running off of a 2Wire 1000HW router which seems to have a built in firewall. Could it be possible that Sygate is actually conflicting with that firewall and not my actual browsers?
