Annoying
Why does windows have to be so annoying? A few weeks ago I did a spring clean on my main machine and did a format and reinstall of XP pro. I slowly put back everything I wanted and had it all setup the way I like. No problems, that is until yesterday when I reinstalled my office XP, first thing this morning windows wants to do an update and I noticed it was all for the office suite, Ok all done and working fine, untill five minutes ago when I went to shut down the machine and noticed the clock is out by one hour.
The hour doesn't change down here in the Caribbean for day light saving like it does in the rest of the civilised world, so why does windows insist on reinstating daylight saving and synchronised internet timing when I want it switched off?? it does it every time it updates something, why cant they just update whatever and leave my personal settings alone? It is so annoying, in the past when I used auto update I have glanced at my machines clock and actually wound up early and late for appointments, before you ask no I don't wear a watch I dont like them. M$ if you are snooping this site for ideas, take note leave my flippin settings alone.

Double click on the clock down in the system tray > "time zone" tab.
Make sure you have selected the correct time zone.

And uncheck the box to automatically adjust for daylight savings time.

count your blessings if that is the worst thing you have to deal with in Windows.

Microsoft firmly believes that the world revolves around Redmond, WA - so Windows really wants to be in the Pacific time zone.

I knew there would be a logical explanation, I'll just have to go around the house and change all the clocks to correspond to the next windows update
I wonder how long it's going to take me to get everyone on the island to change over to "Windows Time"?

Just a thought, but is there any thing in the office XP suite that requires the use of dates or timings? like a daily reminder or calender or something?. If there is maybe it switched my settings back on because it needs them and I have always got them switched off.
