DVD Creation Software
I'm getting into Burning DVD's and was wonderign what everyonet thinks is a good DVD Creation Software. I've found plenty of utilities to burn straight to DVD but I want somethign that I can do Custom Menus in with my images from Photoshop and what not.

Although most people attempt Nerovision Express 2 or 3, they soon find it royally messes with perfect encodes, and can result in blocky video, and out of sync audio.
Sonic has MyDVD which comes bundled with lots of burners, and is commonly referred to as a "PlaySkool" toy. The next step up would be tmpgenc dvd author. It allows for menus and chapters, but is very limited, has no special effects, and makes it difficult to do much custom work. The best bang for the buck is DVDLab (www.mediachance.com). You can download the demo, fully functional, not crippled in any way, for 30 days. If you like it after that, it's only $99, which is a steal compared to most of the other good software (Pinnacle etc), which start at $500 for a crippled version. For plenty more (including a couple of free, VERY basic, ones), check out www.videohelp.com and click on Tools. I also have 3 different guides to using DVDLab to author dvds, look for them under my username (reboot), or Tools, DVDLab at videohelp.com |
