Good tv tuner software

I just got a new tv tuner and I think the included software is severly lacking. The captured audio came out skippy and high pitched, and whenever I tried to increase the screen size at all, it became too blurry and pixelated to view correctly. Does anyone know of any programs that will allow me to capture video and watch tv and play my xbox/ps2 on through my tv tuner without the serious quality loss I'm getting now?

You could give DScaler a try. What card is it? All the software in the world won't help some of the junk cards out there.

Not a brand I'm familiar with. What chipset is it using? Can you see what brand and model the actual tuner is on the card? Most I've seen use a Philips tuner.

I'm 99% sure it uses a philips tuner. Here's the newegg link to it, http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...100-129&depa=0

The hardware appears to be a Philips 7131 MPEG-1 decoder. Don't know if that chip is supported by DScaler. You may want to look for some MPEG-2 (or 4) software codecs around the web and see if any of those help. IMHO, you are going to need a card upgrade if you really want to boost performance. I also think it is kind of shady of manufacturers to advertise MPEG 4/2/1 capabilities when the 4 and 2 are software based.
