Can I Uninstall Nero 5 Safely using Reg Edit?
I just installed a new DVD Burner (Sony DRU-710A) and Nero Buring Rom 6 came with it on a bundle disc. I already have a CD burner along with Nero Burning Rom 5 software installed.
When I tried to install the new Nero 6 software, a window pops up telling me I have to uninstall the older Nero 5 software. But when I try removing the old software through Add/Remove Programs, it will not uninstall. The message"Fatal Error During Installation" appears. I haven't used the Nero 5 program in a LONG time and I'm guessing there might be a software conflict somewhere: I have iTunes installed and I was just using the CD Burning program that comes with it whenever I want to burn CDs. I'm wondering if it would be wise/safe to just DELETE the Nero software using Reg Edit. My Nero 6 DVD Burning software will not install until I get rid of the old program. What else can I do, other than having to reformat? Thanks in advance

Reinstall Nero 5 over top of itself, then remove, using add/remove programs, or Nero's uninstall from the Program's menu.
You should be able to install Nero 6 then. |
