software that tweaks.........
Its my humble opinion that there is no software or any other means that will provide you with that "magic tweak to make your pc scream". Allot of people post with good reason spy ware may be the cause. I offer this. Take care of your system. Keep all the junk and useless files of your hard drive. Clean your registry but BE CAREFUL!!!!!! I have seen registry cleaners crash computers!! Personally using xp with service pack two I utilize utility programs. Personally I love system mechanic 5 (offers 30 day free trial) or my favorite, Fix It utilities. Once fixit is configured right hit the one button wizard and let it go. Cleans defrags all that. I have noticed improvements with files open faster and such. Small though it may be it was noticeable. Also startup inspector is a handy free utility to manage programs that start up with windows. Even tells you what the file is and if its safe to turn off or not. Hope this helps some people........peace.......im out......the utilitys I wrote about are the only ones I trust to clean my registry.....Ive always hit the delete all button with no problems. Ask around and use your judgment on registry cleaners.............

Wintools
Gonna have to check that one out. I have not had to reinstall xp for along time
. I have this nasty habit of not only trying new programs with out reading any instructions what so ever I just go crazy and click this and that. You would think I would learn. For most programs for me anyway I just hope its idiot proof cause this clown can mess up a mud sandwich. I guess its my attitude. Hey all my programs are backed up. Don't care if I have to reload xp. Gee and I will be the first to whine when I have to replace my hard drive. . I just tell myself hey its a guy thing. Sorry ranting

If that's the way you operate, Tim, system restore is the best tool for you. Make a restore point before screwing around.
