I believe you need to make a Ghost bootdisk.

I thought i did but where can I make a boot disk from. I don't have a ghost disk cause the comp dude installed it. I had downloaded a ziped one and it load to my flopppy then i copied ghost.exe to the floppy but it says the disk cannot be recognized. How would I go about making it correct so i can use it. My computer is in a really bad way right now it is barly working. I have a trojan virus, norton can't get it out avg can't get it out and neither can spybot or adaware. I needed to do a fresh install anyway so better time then ever to do it.

Depending on which version of Ghost you have, you may or may not need a boot disk. If you're running 2003 or newer, you can run it from Windows, but what it does is setup a virtual drive on the HD, and it restarts the computer to boot into that DOS virtual drive.
If Ghost is installed on the system, and you can get to it, it does have it's own boot disk maker utility. I've never tried it, but in therory at least, you should be able to copy GhostPE.exe (not ghost.exe) to a bootable floppy that has mouse drivers and run it that way. All a Ghost boot disk is a bootable floppy with any (or not) special drivers you choose to put on it, like mouse drivers, CD drivers, etc. |

heres the problem I don't actually have the ghost program to open. I go to my d drive where my image is and it says ghost.exe but then says can't run in windows nt it needs to boot to dos to run. I guess If i can get win xp into dos i can do it.

Negative. A DOS window will not work. You have to boot to DOS. Do you know which version of Ghost it is?

I fixed the problem wiped my harddrive and all good now. For anyone who may not know this. If you know the file name of ghost u can format a floppy to boot u to MS DOS then where is says A:\ type in the file name. In my case i had to do this A:\D:\ghost.exe and it brought me into ghost and I restored my image. THX again for the help
