Best financial software package?
I've heard bad things about QuickBooks 2005 and Money 2005. What is the best financial software package out there so I can track my cash flow, balance my checkbook, etc?

Quicken should be plenty good, and I'd think Deluxe would be all you need. You don't need Quickbooks for a personal checkbook, that's small business accounting software.

GLC hit the nail right on the head. Quickbooks are for small businesses. It can be used to track personal finances but it's overkill. It's the best bookkeeping software out there. I spent 2 yrs. using it as a bookkeeper.
There is no best financial software package since most of the stuff out there are essentially the same and it pretty much boils down to how well the user knows the software. Personally, I use Excel worksheets. My suggestion is to try out the software and see which one you like. I know MS Money comes free after rebates if you buy a tax software in Office Depot or Staples.

Quicken is generally regarded as the "best" personal finance software package - with Money a close second. Money is generally a year behind Quicken in capabilities if that matters to you. The only real complaint out there on Quicken is they force you to upgrade every couple of years or lose access to online functions, but at $49 list price for a full version this isn't a bankbreaker, it's just annoying.
