Problem with Adobe Reader 6.0

I thought this might be a good place to ask some of you who use this program, who are truly the helpful experts to us all when we are "in need", to find the answers out of our issues.

My computer is set up, so when it starts myself, and my other 3 family members can click on our username at the beginning of Windows XP, and it takes us to our own Desktop, with our icons of choice.
Now, on my desktop, I have the Adobe Reader 6.0 icon, and it comes up just fine, and I can view .pdf files with no issues.
On my computer, I assume (since I set it up...and I truly am not an expert) that I am the "administrator", as the computer does reference now and again to "the administrator", but in reality, I administrate my own username...and that's about it!
My wife, who does the same...in clicking on her username, has her desktop come up fine, with all the icons of "her" choice, and one of them being Adobe Reader 6.0 as well, as she receives e-mails with this program needed.

Unfortunately though, every time she clicks on a .pdf file, a window comes up trying to use a program called "Windows Journal Viewer" to what I assume...point in the direction of Adobe? There is a brief message saying something about her not being the administrator...but why should only the "administrator" have use of this file?

I'm somewhat at my wits end, in trying to figure out how to get Adobe Reader to work for her, and thought I would see if you folks could steer me in the right direction, so that I can get through this impasse?

Thanks in advance!

Dale

Right click on a .pdf file, Properties, under "Opens with" change it to Acrobat. It might not let your wife change this if she's not the administrator, but it's worth a shot.
