How to open .dwg File Type?

what is .dwg file type. what program may i use to open this type of file. please help

It is the standard file type for AutoCAD. Other type would be .dxfand .dwf. You can view these thru cad or autodeske dwf viewer. There is an old program that will let you view and draw on these called volo view.
