Need Diagnostic Help, Please

My computer has recently crashed three times: once during a processor-intensive calculation using Mathematica, and twice more while running a game with intense graphics.

Unless anyone would like to interject, I was planning on downloading some sort of diag. utility that would help me figure out if this was a temperature or a voltage problem. I envision a program that would strain my system and then tell me if my temps. or voltage rails were doing anything funky.

Can anyone please suggest what diagnostic program would be most helpful for me? I run W2K.
