DVD issues!?!

I have what I hope is a simple question. How can I save a DVD to my harddrive? I am running XP, and have plenty of space. I know it can be done, but so far nothing I have tried has worked. Is there a program that I need? I have tried Nero, Realone, PowerDVD, and just using copy and paste. So far, I can get it to save, but it will not play from the harddrive. What am I doing wrong?

Get DVD Decrypter and rip your DVD to hard drive. That's it.
