Music software with 'assignable' qwerty keys????

Hi.
Hope this is in the right thread room as it's my first post here.
Im trying to find a music program that lets me assign the computer keyboard keys to the notes. I used one waaaaaay back (can't remember the name) on the Amiga and kind of still remember the keys i had for that so would rather keep that setup witch is more intuitive than learning the qwerty keys any particular music program sets them as.
I downloaded a bunch of demos for programs but can't seem to find one that simply lets me choose what keys on the keyboard play which notes.
it doesn't have to be a feature packed program as all i want to do is tap out my own tunes etc on the keyboard so need to map my own key setup.
anyone know of one?

I have been using Melody Assistant for over 10 years. It is fantastic program for writing music. I am not sure, but I believe it does permit you to assign notes to keys on the keyboard. Unfortunately I cannot check for you at the moment because I have just recently reformatted my HD and have not yet reinstalled the program.

The program costs $15. US for a license. However that one time fee gives you access to all updates of the program as they become available. You may also download a full featured, (except for "save"), copy of the program to try.

Sibelius is a great tool - as is Finale. Both are capable of assigning notes to keys.
