Compressing .AVI files

I have an .AVI file that sits around 170mb, and runs approx. 9mins. This file has audio as well. Is there a way that I can compress this file so that it's smaller in size, but not lose too much quality? If so, what programs should I use? Or, how should I do it?

Cheers.

Send a message via ICQ to RJ
You need to encode it using a codec that compresses more, such as XVid or Nero Digital, for example.

Get Virtualdub Mod (different than the standard virtualdub). It allows import of mpeg and save as avi using whatever codec you want.
