How to put two picture together? As in cut a single picture and insert another image over it? Just open the two image files and drag and drop it into one canvas - you'll have two layers. The first image and the second image. From there, you can do many things - reduce opacity, cut, etc.

Sorry, but as I mentioned in the other thread, I'm clueless myself. I found this:

http://studio.adobe.com/us/tips/tip....ml=phs8ttmerge

but can't get it open. Tried several times but got the server not found messages, then I tried again and it wanted a logon (!??!). Maybe you'll have better luck. It's suppose to be Adobe's tutor on panoramas.

I get what you mean now. Open up the image files you have that will become the panorama picture. Take one of the windows that has one of the images and expand the canvas so that your horizontal size is doubled - so if your image size is 800x600, you want to expand the canvas horizontally to 1600x600. Then, go to the other image windows and literally drag it into the image with expanded canvas size. Then, move it around until you have a perfect fit - you may need to zoom in to 200% to perfectly align the two images so that they make a panorama.

Hope that helps (and if it doesn't, ask for clarification)

ok, got both pics open and the canvas made to bouble the size (width) now my picture is smak dab in the middle of a black background. I cant drag the other pic into it because when i put my cursor over it and try to drag it, all it does is make that dotted rectangular box. It dosent drag anything. I have copied and pasted it into the bigger canvas but then i cant move it around. This is frustrating and thanks again for youre help

You need to use the drag tool when you are dragging from one window to another. See attatched picture - I circled it in Red

That's different - that combines the two images and practically "glues them together" - making two layers into one.

Now I have two pics and one is a diferent "tone" if you will, I have tried to match them up but when i was taking the pics one must have had more light in the lense than the other. Is there a way to make them both the same so the sky is the same color and the lake and the trees?

Don't have any easy answers, Tregrad. The only way I know of is to just play around and do color, and other image adjustments / "corrections."

TwoRails,
I have been messin with it for a while and found that you can "magic wand" a area and change it instead of the whole picture. In my picture i have sky, Lake and Pine trees. I adjusted the trees the water and then the sky and it came up pretty good, could still use some tweekin tho. Just thought I would let you know.

Good tip, Tregrad. That's a very handy feature that PSP also has.... one that I wish I had figured out long before I did.

(not to start anything, but you'll know what I mean: I still think that PS, PSP, and other complicated programs are just like word processors: they have ton's of features that people have to learn and figure out, often not finding them [the features] until there is a need for it.)

Yeah i know what you mean but thats how it goes sometimes, no harm no foul. Heck, I have been using Quick Books for my business for 5 years now and I still dont know half of it LOL my brother didnt even know that if you hit the "end" key that it takes the cursor to the end of the sentence your typing.
but anyway, I got to using ps and you can be in that thing for hours if your not carefull.
How much is PSP anyway? if its any easier maybe i will go get it.
If you come with more tricks to "feather" two pics together they would be helpfull. It still isnt perfect and I get all anal about stuff like that.

Paint Shop Pro is currently on sale - $95 for a direct download, $103 boxed. You can download a free trial.

They even offer free phone support (not toll-free, though) M-F 8-5 CST.

Hi Tregrad,

Ya, it's easy to get lost in your work for hours. I've seen PSP for $59 on sale with rebates if you keep your eyes open. (But now that Corel took them over, I don't know how any sales will go...)

Sorry, don't really have any tricks for you on stiching photos together. PSP and PS are probably pretty close in that aspect, but I've never done it in PSP. I'm going back on 13 hour days at work starting Monday, so I won't be able to play much with it, either

PS probably has this too, but in PSP you can actually set the amout of feathering and anti-aliasing (amoung other things) for your selections. I know when I take just a part of one photo and stick it into another, I feather the edges for a cleaner looking result.

I'll pop in when I can. Good luck!

Well, for giggles I figure I'd check out PSP stitch / panoramic features... And they are sorely lacking. I couldn't find anything in Help Topics. I did a "search" and found this:
Quote:
Take a series of photographs with overlapping subject matter, then stitch the photographs together using layers.

Create an image with a canvas large enough to display the panorama, then copy each photograph onto a separate layer. Decrease the opacity of one layer to see though it as you use the Move tool to match up the edges of the other photograph. Do this with each layer, then return the layers to 100 percent opacity.
That is the total help section for panorama. For such a powerful program, it's pretty weak in this area.
