Turning pictures into a slideshow movie

When i make a movie using pictures in Windows Movie Maker and save it in a video format, no matter what the pictures are never as good as they should be. I have a 5 mega-pixel camera and the quality of the pictures is great. I want to be able to take pictures and make them into a DVD with music. How can i do this but keep the quality? BTW i have a DVD burner so i would want this to be able to play, say on a TV.

You can't. DVD Video is max. 720x480 (that is about 0.4 megapixels), whereas a 5 megapixel image is something like 2560x2048.
A regular TV can't display better than that anyways, so on the TV (but also on the PC) it will have the same quality as a commercial video DVD.
If it doesn't have the quality of a commercial video DVD, then something is not right. But video DVD quality is the best you can do.
