avi/mpeg editor advice

I need an avi/mpeg editor that will take around 5-7 avi or mpeg video segments and string them together to create one file.

Anyone come across software that will allow this? Wanted to ask before I made a purchase.

TIA

Send a message via ICQ to RJ
For AVI: VirtualDub
For MPEG: Cuttermaran

Do a web search for Easy Video Joiner. It will handle all types of files

Been fine. Turned 60 yesterday. My old bones are creaky.

Easy Video Joiner is a fine program. Been using it since the summer of 2004.

What do you plan on doing with the finished file?
If it's just for storage on your hard drive, the programs mentioned above work well.
If you plan on creating a dvd with it, there are quite a few different ways to do what you want.
