Making sure programs un-install completely…

What steps does one need to take to ensure that a program fully un-installs? After removing a program I usually check the program files folder to make sure it did not leave behind any folders/files and delete them if it did, I also check out the start menu as some programs leave their shortcut there and finally I check out the registry and delete any left behind entries (would probably be better off using a good registry cleaner instead). Is there any place else to check for leftover programs files?

I do everything you do plus I use Wintools after, It's a pretty good program and cleans things left behind where you would not think of looking to do it manually.

Have any idea how to achieve the above using Norton SystemWorks? (Well, if it is possible with SystemWorks.)
