Download the newest driver from Intel. Be sure this is the right one.

I tried that. This newly built pc did not have an internet connection so I had to do some guest work. But after I installed the drivers and everything it still wouldent work! Think its a bad mobo or a hdd? Newegg is always good on their return policies.

What dosen't work??? If you have installed windows and things seem to work, then it is very likely that windows has installed the mobo driver. XP has a large driver database. Need more info on what isn't working (if anything).

Question Reply

When I go into network connections no netwrok connection is established. Even after i try to set up a connection, there is not one present. Do you think this might be becouse of a bad MoBo?

You need to take the CD that came with the motherboard and put it in. Let the Intel Express Installer do its thing.

Look at the list of installed hard ware in device manager and make a list of what has a yellow exclamation mark against it indicating it is installed but not working, then do as glc says put the mobo disk in the cd and install the mobo drivers, checking back in the device manager to see what has started working and what needs more drivers installed.

Yes the disk that came with the mobo is the one I tried to install. And it wouldent install. Like I said it gave me the error msg ::Internal Error - Proccces timed out.:: When I went into device manager "network adapters" had a big yellow question mark beside it, I even tried buring the drivers to a cd from my other pc and insatalling them that way, but that dident work either. Thx for the reply guys. I just hope I can resolve this issue once and for all.

Question Reply

Yes, thats right! Would you happen to know if this means its a faulty one? And what would that mean if it was? Would the inevitibilty be sending it back?

Send a message via AIM to Panama Red
If the auto installer won't work, try this. Go to the Device Manager and select the problem lan, select properties, and Reinstall Driver. Browse to find the lan driver on the mobo cd. It should be in the CD drive but not running. See if it will install from there.

The only other way I can think of is to Remove the lan from the Device Manager and reboot. When the lan is found again, point it to the mobo disk.
