Hi all,
Been hearing that Firefox is a good alternative browser to IE, but should I uninstall IE after installing Firefox? Same question for OE & Thunderbird Mail. Same goes for AVG & Nortion. I just got a new PC and would like to try the Mozilla products but don't want to screw up the new system. Specs below. Emachines C3060 AMD Sempron 3000+ (2Ghz) 160GB HD 512mb RAM NVIDIA GeForce4 MX DVD +/-RW CD-ROM WinXP Home IE6.0 OE6.0 Mozilla Firefox1.0 Norton AV McAfee Security Center Zone Alarm Office 2000 |

IE + OE: No, they can co-exist with firefox and thunderbird. Anyway, you cannot uninstall IE or OE.
Norton: It can remain installed (although if it is 2004+ it could slow down your system), but realtime protection must be turned off it can conflict with AVG. You listed having McAfee, if this has antivirus/firewall feature enabled they should be disabled since you have zonealarm/avg. Also you could uninstall McAfee, as well as Norton. |
