Copy Software
I'm looking for software that lets me make quick copies using a scanner and a printer, not an all-in-one thing. the fastest way that I know of right now is to scan a page and print it. I'm looking for a touch opertaion type of thing, so it's simple for my parents to do. Is there any faster or better way? Any comments, answers, sujestions welcome.
Thanks, nubb |

Most HP scanners have at least 3 buttons. Regular scan, email scan, and print scan.
The first scans for general digital manipulation. The second does the same as the first, but compresses the scan for sending over email (ie, a jpg image), and the third scans for printing. This last one sends the scan to HP software where if prompts you to either print, or change some settings and then print. I would suggest a $30-$50 HP scanner. If you'd like to physically see what's available, staples, best buy, or any other computer/office store should have them on display.

Ok, thanks FF!
It doesn't have to be a HP printer, does it? Would this be one of the scanners you recomend? Hewlett Packard Scanjet 3670 Digital Flatbed Scanner Do Cannon scanners have that option too? Are they any good? (generally) |

Nope, it doesn't matter what the printer is.
I've only used HP's, so I couldn't vouch for Cannon scanners. That scanner is fine, but you may not need a scanner with that high of a resolution if it's just for printing. |

It will also be used for scannning photos taken by a film camera amoung other things so I think I want the resolution. I might even use it for taking pictures, lol. (hope it's at least 2 megapixels) j/k |

I have a HP 3970 and it scans pictures and you can't tell them from the original after I print them on my HP 7350 PhotoSmart printer. The copy function works great, can hardly tell the copy from the original. On my other computer I have a HP 5200C scanjet scanner thats a work horse and a HP 3845 printer. I tried several other makes over the years and HP holds up the best. No, I don't work for HP.

I had a Hp scanner for 4 days once and I was really impressed but unfortunaly I had to get rid of it.
The only thing is that 3670 is about the only HP available in the stores I checked, there are a few more expensive ones but I don't need that. |
