Symantec/Norton Ghost 9

Hi.
This is just fantastic & so easy to use. Most important is the fact that with 2000/XP it allows you to make a copy of your C: drive (I'll assume C: this your OS drive for this review) while RUNNING the Ghost 9 under 2000/XP.

Install it and pop in the activation key to get started!

Previous versions of NT based operating systems required you to boot from a Ghost floppy and do the backup from a limited but funcional DOS GUI because vital files were exclusively locked by NT & couldn't be copied while the OS was running. Windows 95/98/ME did not have this restriction.

However Ghost 9 is a whole new ballgame

Fire up 2000/XP as normal. Install Ghost 9 & insert the activation code after install to unlock.

Have your destination hard drive online (mine is an external USB Amacom) & select 'disk-to-disk backup' for any drive you want INCLUDING C: Make a directory on your backup drive to copy the Ghost image to.

It will make a faithful backup image of your C: drive while you are running 2000/XP. Floppy boot up is gone!!

Of course you can back up all your drives, but backing up the OS drive while the OS is running is brilliant......and about time too!

I've just got this package & haven't fully used it but it's basically a 'point & click' experience.

Sorry about the review but I encourage anyone who needs a drive backup 'just in case' to try this software. It could save your butt!
