winword.exe - Weird, Wild Stuff!
Hiya Folks,
I just noticed that winword.exe was in my process list on my work PC, but MS Word is not running (nor are any other pieces of MS Office). The process was using a little over 8,000k of memory. I did some googling and found a very strange but effective tip. I started MS Word while watching the winword.exe process and it went from about 8,000k (Word not open but process running) to slightly under 9,000k when I opened MS Word (as I would expect when the program is opened). I then minimized MS Word while still watching the process and it dropped to less than 2,000k. This could be perfectly normal as I have never watched a process while opening and closing programs, I just want to know if this is normal because it seems a little strange. Does this mean I'm better off keeping Word open throughout the day to free up some memory? Thanks for any feedback, I'm just curious. Stryker

I've noticed that too. I just kill the process when I notice that it is still running. I am not sure why this happens.

Are you using Word as your email editor for Outlook?

I don't know who you are addressing, but I don't have Outlook on my computer.
