Post Adobe Illustrator install problem

I have Adobe Illust CS and when i try to install it, it will install up to "initializing plug-ins" then it stops. If i leave it alone (about an hour) it will eventually continue and the program self starts.

BUT when i am working in the program, i get an error message (bad parameters) and freezes. Sometimes I can go into Task manager and stop the process other times i have to force a shutdown. It's not the software, i've tried it on another computer.

Any ideas, suggestions???

Thanks

Post Adobe IllustratorCS install - machine specs

Stryker -
This is my friends PC specs as requested... They are pretty much what I have on my PC and I have no problem. I originally had only 256 RAM and it still ran. I did however add an additional 512 stick.

Anyhow, these are his specs:

Windows XP Professional Version 2002
Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.4GHz
512MB of RAM

He has 23.5GB free HD and 13.7Gb used.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Have you tired contacting Adobe? I believe they offer 120 days support on purchased retail packages and 60 days on OEM packages.

Not that I'm trying to 'pass your problem off' - but in this case, it would just make more sense to go to the company since your problem is specific to a software package most people here do not have.

Question Illustrator?

The Illustrator has been in my PC for over a year and it worked fine all of that time. It just started acting up one day and would not open. so I removed it and re installed it and the same problem is still there, it will not open it starts to then stops.

Thanks John W
