Software with trial periods
How do these work?
Ok, this isn't a blatant "I'm going to crack my software" post, I'm actually interested in how they do it. I uninstalled a program that had expired it's trial, removed all references to it in the Documents and Settings, removed all references to it in the registry - but when I reinstalled it still knew the trial had expried. How so? |

Hidden entries in the registry.
I can't legally tell you how to get around it, but there are ways.

Is it against the EULA to uninstall, and reinstall software with a trial period?

Yes, usually. Read the fine print.
