File System Questions
Hello,
I am curious to know how the NTFS Files system works on the subject of data transferring. Lets say that I have videos on my computer, and I want to share them over my network. I enable the folder that contains the videos for sharing. My friend takes them and all is well. I am curious to know, when people are transferring files form place to place, does the file system transfer hiddne files besides the main files that are wanted? I guess I want to know if my personal information/tracks are being transferred through this sharing without my knowledge. When transferring, are other files leaking out with the files that are being transferred? Thank you, K43 |

Only files that you share will be transfered, and way are you worried about hidden files yuo didn't hide any important files in shared folder did you ???

No, lol. Its just that I have LAN parties with a lot of people that have warez it seems, and I don't want them getting onto my computer when I take updates or maps from their shared folder. Would any of those files or tracks of their files get onto my pc?

Ok, well I want to know if Windows transfers specific files to other computers on the network in order to communicate. Would Windows perhaps sneak any personal data/tracks over to the other computers on the network without my consent? I would think Windows is more secure than this, but does anyone know of any instances where this has happened?

If i understand you correctly the only way they will see the files is if your sharing them.
