Stomp backupmypc guru please

I reformatted and installed xp in favor of me. I backed everything up and all went pretty well, except for my outlook files. I can see the pst file and others in windows\application data on my stomp backup disk, but when I try to install them into C:\documents and settings\username\local settings\application data\microsoft\outlook, it just doesn't work. I know I'm doing something wrong, but what? TIA.

Have you opened Outlook and created a new personal folders file yet? If not, do so. If so, rename the new PST fiel to something like outlook1.pst and copy the old one into the same folder as the new one.
