help with ems driver probs
hi dudes
being an avid lemmings fan i bought a game many years ago called "world of lemmings" or "lemmings chronicles" as it's known in the usa. I could not then and still now get it to work. Originally i was going to take it back but decided that the shop would only ask me to choose something else anyway so i kept it. It was a box set containing approx 6 floopy disks but i have long since transfered it to cd and dispossed of the box set to conserve space. Many opperating systems, computers, virtual computers, and long spent hours later i am still unresolved on how to get the bloody thing working. I have a little go now and again and this is one of those occassions. Anyways here are the two error reports i get from my experiments 1. error 15.4 : ems driver not loaded 2. error 55.53 unable to calibrate timer I have followed instructions from this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q126450/ to try to resolve error 2. but the same error came up after making the changes ( note this is running the program using windows me run on Virtual PC Version 5.0.0.350 ) And to try to tackle error 1. I added the following to config.sys runnig on windows 95 also in virtual pc environment, but i have tried OTHER SOLUTIONS on a 486 machine and pentium 2 using win95 Device=C:\Dos\Himem.sys Device=C:\Dos\emm386.exe Ram Dos=High also tried last line reading Dos=high, umb The game can be loaded from here now for free...Theres my luck i should of waited LOL..Don't know or care of the legal technicalities ....nowt to do with me LOL http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?id=2253 not quite sure how to instal this one though so i added the installer instlemm.exe from the original copy of mine. Iit then went in no probs but after a few moments of excitement thinking a newer version might work still no joy. Anyway can anyone help me before i bore you all to death If you decide to have a play and can't get the version of lemmings to install from the link i have gave you you can email me at "bloodyhellfire@aol.com" and i will send you the "instlemm.exe" which you need to copy into the main LEM3CD folder and then run it to instal the game Hope someone can sus it cus it dus it for me.........well it would do if it worked LOL CHEERS |
