DVD edit software

I want to buy DVD software to use on a DVD burner. Can someone recommend some good software for editing videos on a DVD burner? I have been thinking about buying an NEC DVD burner. Do you agree with that choice?

Depends on your system configs/operating system.
If you are running windows XP then there is a basic video editing software
built in call "windows movie maker"; very basic though.

Commerical software like Adobe Premiere costs hundreds of dollars,
but there are some free video editing on the Net__look at STICKY #1.
in this discussion group.
Also when you buy any DVD writer, some simple video editor is bundled
with it.

Hi, I have used Pinnacle 8 for about 18 months, I find it easy to work with and usually end up with great results. I have had a problem recently ( see Pinnicale 8 on forum ) but I think this is more me than the software. The frustrating thing you may find, is that not many people down load and make films so the opportunity to share idea's/ problems seems to be limited. I really enjoy it and hope you find the same. Please keep in touch it would be good to share info with someone.

You're mistaken. Try the forums at www.videohelp.com Only about 20,000 members, and a few million posts.

The NEC is 3520A is a good unit. As far as the software goes, there are so many variations out there is kind hard to recommend just one. Budget also plays a factor. Assuming a budget of $100 or less, I've tried Pinicale, Nero, MyDVD, Roxio, Ulead, and others I can't remember. Roxio is my personal favorite (and that's hard to say, as I like to say I'm a "Nero" fan...). It's the easiest overall to use and gives results that are the best in the group, IMHO.

My favourite editing software is Vegas 5. Vegas Movie Studio 4 runs a very close second.
Burning software, I only use Nero 6.6x
The two are mutually exclusive.
