Format Harddrive Utility?

i have an external hard drive. it wasn't formatted at all. is there and free Format Harddrive Utility?

do you have Windows 2000/XP ?

if so you can partition and format it using Disk Management by right-clicking on My Computer and clicking Manage

You have to use Disk Management and CREATE a partition.

exactly, when you are in Disk Management, If you have no other hard drives installed in the system, the external will be listed As Disk1 on the bottem, right-click on it to create a partition and then choose the size of the partition and whether you want Fat32 or NTFS
