Page file move

Recently I moved the page file from off the primary drive and now strange things happen in windows. I finally got a decent PC so i try to check out a far cry demo and during installation I get an error message like "source file not found" and its pointing to where my temp file would be on my primary drive. So i switch over to explorer to create it then return to the error dialog and click retry on the seek folder attempt request and no dice, just gives error crap like consult windows installer help.

I reboot and give it a fresh start and it goes through now I'm wondering about the page file transfer. People say to put the page file on a secondary partition and it sounds great but is there something we should be aware of, particularly when using a secondary drive?

Oh yeah, totally had a brain fart there i must have been out of my mind [was indeed]. But still, last night, not a single grenade exploded and weapon drops were sporatic. I don't know if I'm just being paranoid or if the page file is too blame. I blame the page file because it is still likely that even after I created a second page file on the main partition windows didn't use it because windows will recognize the page file on the secondary drive as the better file to use.

So how do I change the Temp file? is that something that is clamped in Documents and Settings?

The page file you can move around. I don't *think* you can move the window temp folders around.
