WildTangent Troubles

Just what the title says. One thing I can not stand is spyware, and this is one.. First I tried add and revmove, the uninstall would not work. Next up was Ad-Aware and Spybot, neither was able to get rid of it, even though they both recognize it.. Next I downloaded a program that suppose to uninstall WildTangent, but that failed.. So all that was left was to manual delete the files. There are two that won't delete CDAEngine0400.dl and wtappConfig0200. Bot say Access denied bla bla bla. How am I suppose to get rid of these if access is denied..

Send a message via AIM to ZeratulsAvenger
HAve ya tried safe mode? Maybe even a floppy with DOS would work(cd to the directory and then remove(rm might be the command, forgot) the file), but that would be a lil more painful then Safemode. Wait... Would a DOS floppy be able to read the NTFS partition?

Try this

How to Remove WildTangent?

In order to uninstall, please follow these steps:

1. Go to START > Settings > Control Panel
2. Double click Add/Remove Programs, Select WildTangent , Click uninstall or add/remove, follow the on screen instructions.
3. Open the registry editor (Click Start > Run, type regedit). Locate the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
In the right pane, find and delete the following entries ( if they exists):

wcmdmgr
wt gamechannel
ddcm

Close registry editor.
4. Restart your computer.
5. Open your Window directory ( for example: c:\windows), then open the wt foler, delete all the files in it.

You can also go to http://support.wildgames.com/uninstall.html to download a uninstall tool.
