Short filenames with WinRar possible?
is it possible to create Zip files which support DOS short file names (8.3 format) using WinRar?
how? |

Compress the file and save it as "a.rar".
What's the problem? |

i mean, the files *inside* the zip (not rar).. to convert them from long file names to short (8.3) in the zipping process

I don't see that option in WinRar or WinAce, but Winzip has it.

yea i know winzip does
..guess i'll have to install that but for future does anyone know an app which converts normal files to 8.3 so i could convert them and then use winrar? ideally if it could convert them when they were in the zip it would be better..
