Hi: I'm planning within a year to open an Internet Cafe in a small island in the Caribean. I'm planning to built at least 10 machines plus the main (server) one to control all the operations of my business. I'm not a computer expert when it come to programs.
Does any body knows a program/ software that it's use for this kind of business ? Does XP have this capability? Thanks. |

Dont really know anything for a internet cafe but you might want to look at a program like deep freeze, with that every time a pc reboots it goes back to how it was before so if anyone does something to the computers all you need is a reboot to get it working again.

Thanks for your response.I checked the site ,ut I'm really looking for a program, for example:
you come to my place. If charge $5 an hour, open an account ,log under your username and only used 23 minutes. that mean you have 37 minutes left when come back next time you buy more time or used all the time. Is to create and to monitor user's accounts. |

I work at a CyberCafe over here in California, we use a program called SmartLaunch. It's specifically made for CyberCafes. You basically have a server that holds everyone's time and user accounts and they log in through a special interface that lists all your games/software installed. Once the time is up it will boot them out. I heard it was used in offical LAN tournaments. Their website is:
http://www.smartlaunch.net/ I suggest leasing their software because when newer versions of the software comes out, you get free upgrades. Be aware that at our shop we had minor issues with certain games (for example Warcraft 3) because the mouse will get stuck or act up since SmartLaunch is running as the top window above everything else. Let me know if you have any other questions. HTH
