S/ware to record lectures from internet
Hi I have asked this question B4, here. Unfortunately, I cannot seemt o find where I posted it!
What i would like to do is to be able to record lectures from the internet / paltalk etc. Record them to my HD. I can record them to a tape recorder but it is 'clumsy' to say the least! Know of any good free/shareware iout there that would do a good job at this? Thks

If you mean capture a stream...
I haven't done it for a while , but I remember using this to capture streaming radio shows a couple years back, alas Slashdot Radio is no more . I saw it on The Screensavers while the show was still good. It's called Total Recorder, I just checked the site and it's on like version 5 now...I had 1 or 2 point something. It worked like a charm though and was well worth the 11 bucks. Unless someone else knows of a freeware program that does the same thing.http://www.highcriteria.com/ |

What sound card do you have? Meaning, some cards, like Sound Blaster, come with a little utility to do just that, which a lot of folks overlook.

I don't know of a good program to recommend off hand. Since I always build with Creative, it's supplied recording software has always (as far as I can remember) been able to do that.
You can try Audacity, which is an excellent sound editor which is free, but I don't know if it has a built in fuction to do what you want. You can try popular download places like Tucows, PC World, etc and see what they have. ~~~ Anybody else have any good suggestions?? |
