Dell on screen graphics

Hi All,

Sorry if this is a daft question.

I have recently purchased a dell laptop. Is there any way to turn the graphics on and off when you push the function key to turn the sound or brightness up and down?

I.e if I push function and the sound up button I get a sliding bar in the bottom corner of the screen telling me what level the sound is it. Can this be turned on and off?

Thanks,

Keith

I think it all really depends on how the laptop is setup. This stuff is usually pre-programmed, and i dont think its something you can just re-setup. There may be something on switching video modes, like between lcd screen > lcd screen + external vga port > external vga port only, or something like that. you'd might want to check the manual on that.

HTH,

that onscreen graphic is tied to dell's keyboard driver. uninstalling the driver will disable the function keys depending on your laptop model. more help can be searched on dell's support forum
