I have a SATA drive, just one HD. I cannot install Intel application accelerator. Please someone tell me how to install ? Does one need more than one HD to activate ? Thank you kindly.

IAA is a Chipset software and, to my knowledge, has nothing to do with the type of hard drive you are running. Your motherboard chipset must support IAA for it to load. Check the Intel website for compatibility with your board/chipset.

Why are you trying to install it? It's not necessary unless you are running a RAID array on an Intel ICH controller and it can cause all kinds of weird issues with optical drives.

I guess I will leave as it is. I have Asus P5GD2 Delux MB and I found the boot up time to be a little slow, although there is nothing at the startup. But with my other computer P4 it starts much faster. The new one is P4 3.20. I have always installed IAA and found the boot time to be much faster. Thanks for the advise. I have learnt a hell of a lot of information from this forum.

The IAA is not compatible with the ICH6R, which is what your board has.
