G'day from downunder. I'm John and it's my first post here.
In my opinion the best AV software is Nod32 http://www.eset.com/home/home.htm I had lots of problems with Norton. It hardly detected anything. Try Nod32 and yousee the difference. Last edited by jollyjohn; 05-13-2005 at 10:14 AM. |

NOD32 is very good - as is PC-Cillin 2005 which also includes a firewall and other nice features not found in other suites. For something free, AVG-Free is great.
Norton and McAfee are both becoming outdated. Neither company has updated the core structure of their respective AV programs - they've just changed their look from year to yearand added a few features here and there.

NOD32 is very good. I use it on my Win98SE system and it's working fine without hogging sys resources. PC-Cillin is also recommendable - in fact, I use TrendMicro's AntiVirus as well (Corporate Edt.). Of the two, I recommend NOD32 for home use. Definately a big different in speed (considering sys resource hogging) and malware since switching from McAfee.
